-Biography: Robert Dülmen and upward spiral of music addiction-
-Robert Dülmen Grew up in the 80's and 90's getting hooked to music by prolonged exposure to pop hits and classics
on the radio and his dad's 60's up rock 'n roll tapes. Regular exposure to the art of DJ'ing in the shape of his DJ-ing big
brother and on air club mixes only worsened this addiction.

-By the end of the 90's however his situation seemed to improve due to his awareness to the increasing commercial
levels of the mainstream Dutch club and radio. This drop in product quality in fact got him clean from main stream
radio and clubbing.

-The resulting musical gap in his soul however, made him wandering into the endless musical backstreets of
alternative pop music and underground clubbing. Again hooked to music he hustled to make a stash of (classic) pop
and alternative records.

-If even then there had been a way back, Robert D.'s fate was definitely sealed at the turn of the century when he
started trafficking music himself. His first accidental DJ-gig made him realize the power of his record collection. If
just playing good music already could make people dance all night long, imagine what could happen if his music was
carefully selected and skillfully mixed?!

-Gigging at all sorts of clubs and party's, including residencies at squats, a student club, (pirate) radio and a DJ Café,
Robert refined his musical product balancing the diverse components of his musical past and present. He developed
three different styles which can overlap: pop hits & classics, alternative pop and electronic dance music. This way he
always has enough musical stuff and space for a big musical trip and he's almost always able to make his goods to
measure up to the taste of different people in different crowds.

-At present Robert himself is tripping more and more to electronic dance music like elektro, techno, nu disco and
robot rock. He likes this music because it's a refreshing new sound to hear in more and more Dutch nightclubs and
because it gives him a lot of mixing pleasure, since this music was made to dance and mix!

-In the end however his biggest satisfaction isn't just in the perfect mix, it's all about playing the right music at the
right place and time, finding songs people like and getting them to dance all night, that's where Robert Dülmen's true
addiction lies. Realizing this addiction will never end, he decided to work hard to get him and his audiences higher,
enjoying every step towards the highest levels of DJ-ing.
